The New York Yankees top-hat logo, created in 1947, is generally credited to sports artist Lon Keller who had moved to New York City in 1937. The logo consists of the team name in red script with a baseball bat forming the spine of the “k.” An Uncle Sam hat hangs from the barrel. As for the interlocking NY…that was designed by Tiffany & Co. in 1877.
