Original 1894 gas light on Patchin Place still exists.Marlon Brando, Theodore Dreiser are two who called Patchin Place home.

Tiny Patchin Place is home to one of only two gas street lights remaining in New York City though the light is now electric. This cul-de-sac at W10th Street and Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village was home to many notable writers including Djuna Barnes who lived there until her death in 1982. Patchin Place was also the home to poet e.e. cummings who was born on October 14, 1894.
